Creating an mp3 store

Hi,

I just got a new dedicated with whmsonic
And haven't set up a shoutcast hosted/autodj stream yet, just live streams

One of the things i might be asked about if creating hosted streams,
and i don't know exactly how to use this yet but,

That mp3 store feature, obviously the owner of the shoutcast account
would be able to upload audio files to a folder, what do you do exactly?
Where do you create this folder etc etc.. any guides?

Creating MP3 Base/Store:

Internal Shoutcast:
Internal shoutcast account mean who have a webhosting account with you and they have their own webhosting space on your server.

Simlpy; they can login to their FTP and upload mp3 folder to their FTP or public_html. The mp3 store must be a folder, so users need create a folder on their local computer first, create an empty folder and copy some mp3 files to that folder upload the folder to FTP done.

Path for mp3 store: /home/cpanel_username/mp3 or /home/cpanel_username/public_html/mp3 or other paths where user uploaded.

External Accounts:
External accounts does not have their own FTP but they have mp3 upload and automatic base creation feature in their cPanel WHMSonic autodj section. They have also playlist feature to manage their playlist. External accounts can upload mp3 files one by one using the upload mp3 feature.

Path for mp3 store: /home/sc_username/mp3 (This path is same for all external accounts)

Hi Max,

Yea i created a folder at the root in my ftp client, uploaded an mp3 in there,
When autodj was finisted, autodj set up successfully, it gave an url to listen : .pls
But when it opened the link in winamp, the text in winamp reads : 0. [ICY 401
Service unavailable http://mystreamingipaddress...

Sorry i don't understand these features yet, just testing befoe i offer it as a service.

No probs, i got it working, think i had to have minimum of 2 mp3's in that folder i created :)

I restarted the server in the radio control panel and went to the radio link again
Getting the same error as above, in winamp, stream doesn't play.

Hello Turner,
When you restart shoutcast then you have to restart autodj also. It wont connect until you restart it.

Simply, stop shoutcast and stop autodj in the WHM root, start shoutcast and then start autodj.

You're learning our software now, these problems are %100 normal for new user and we are here to support you.

Not sure what you mean, stop shoutcast first then stop autodj?
I'm logged into one of the accounts i created.

So that can be left play a way 24/7 ? :)
I gave myself unmetered cpanel + autodj
