Hello,

I have one or two questions about creating internal accounts,

Firstly, to create an internal account,
I have to create a package in WHM, then create a cpanel account on that?
Then goto create an internal shoutcast account with that cpanel right?

Also i'm wondering, as im not using the user's own domain names to create the cpanel hosting,
Will it work if i create the cpanel accounts on sub-domains of my main domain?

Hope that doesn't sound too confusing.

Thanks

I forgot to ask...

I usually create external accounts, and each account we set up with unmetered bandwidth

If you're creating internal accounts, should you give the user unmetered?
As they will have hosting features also, or how do you deal with this?

For example; i gave them 5 gigs of space to upload their audio files,
As the main reason for creating the internal account is for autodj features, but they are gonna have cpanel hosting also?

Maybe you can disable the webhosting features of an internal account so they only have the streaming shoutcast and autodj features i dunno,
This has me confused a bit.

I think i am gonna creating sub-domains from my main domain on the server,
Then creating a package with say 3gigs of space for autodj use, uploading files.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to give the accounts unmetered bandwidth.
Gonna go play with this now!

> You dont have to provide unmetered bandwidth, you may have shoutcast packages which is bandwidth starting from 5Gb to unmetered and of course prices will be different. You may investigate other shoutcast companies for what they are provides.

When you create internal account of course it will have hosting features in the cpanel but then you can assign sonic skin/theme to user in WHM list accounts section click edit username button and select sonic skin instead of x2 or x3. This will disable all hosting features in user cpanel and show them only WHMSonic options for any internal account. You can also select sonic skin during the internal cpanel account creation.

Thanks that's a cool option,
Yes i managed to create a cpanel account with a sub-domain off my main domain,
Then i created the internal account for that cpanel user
I stayed up half the night trying to write a document to explain the features
of shoutcast admin pro, cpanel and autodj.

Didn't know i could disable the hosting features of cpanel for an internal account, nice :)
So i got to write a document about hosted shoutcas, remove the cpanel info.

I guess i'll have to test this again,
But, for an internal account that i have disabled the cpanel features,
Do they only use ftp to upload their audio files then?
And no cpanel
And they have to login through cpanel still?
I ask this, becauase i couldnt login to their account using the whmsonic url
There was no username created for the whmsonic login,
I tryed the username that was created for the cpanel, no joy.

Thanks!

Edit..

When i use the sonic theme when creating the cpanel all goes well
I add the internal account to that cpanel user and we got it sorted
You login to cpanel www.subdomain.site.com/cpanel right?
And we only get the features of the shoutcast account cool.
So when they want to upload audio files/mp3s they use their ftp client
and they login to their cpanel right?
But i see all the cpanel web hosting features in there, is that ok?

Later!
