Hello,

I created several new external accounts and assigned sub domains to each.
One thing we didn't relise was that we never setup any DNS for these sub
domains, to point to the ips that were assigned to their shoutcast accounts.

So one problem with this is;
We couldn't use their http://www.subdomain.mysite.com:radioport to listen.
But we could use their http://ip:radioport to listen in,

I haven't done dns changes in whm for a while,
Since i haven't been creating cpanel accounts.
Is there a guide to doing this correctly in whm?

Thanks

Hello,
Setting up a dns is a long way. Could you please add subdomain for any domain in the server from cpanel.

for example; I've sonicname.com domain name and this domain is working on my server.(Domain must be correct and working on your server) Open sonicname.com cpanel and visit subdomain section, add a new subdomain name.sonicname.com. After that, wait about 10 - 20 sec for the dns changes.

Now try; http://name.sonicname.com:port

Hi Max,

I tryed it that way at first, but when creating the external account,
It wouldn't let me use the sub domain i created in the main domain's cpanel.
I was creating sub domains from the one/main domain on the server.

Thanks later

Sorry it's been a while,
This is somehting i will probably be requested to do a lot, cutom plans.
So i have to learn this for myself.

So i create a subdomain in the sub domain section of my root domain on the server.
Then i have to create a package in whm
Then create an account in account functions
Then create an external account
And use the sub domain i created in the domain box.

Am i missing something there.

Thanks

When i click create i get

Account Creation Status: failed (Sorry, that domain is already setup (remove it from httpd.conf : line 348))
Sorry, that domain is already setup (remove it from httpd.conf : line 348)

The other way is to remove the sub domain from the main donain's cpanel and continue with the step above,
But then i got to create the dns later.

Thanks for helping me out!
Was just one mistake, i should have selected ANY IP instead of destination ip,

Much appreciated!
